Wilkinson Sword is a brand license owned by Edgewell Personal Care, with the gardening collection developed and distributed by E.P. Barrus Ltd. Unfortunately, we do not have records or expertise regarding historical swords. We recommend contacting a museum, university, or specialist antique appraiser for information on these items.

Digging & Cultivating Tools: Use a stiff brush to remove soil after use. If tools are heavily soiled, wash with water but ensure they are dried thoroughly with a cloth to prevent wooden handles from swelling and metal from corroding. Periodically apply a thin film of general-purpose oil to prevent rust.
Cutting Tools: Plant sap can cause blades to stick and attract grime. Use wire wool or a nylon scourer to remove dried sap. Apply a penetrating lubricant spray, let it sit for a few minutes, and wipe clean. Finish by oiling the central pivot point and checking that all working parts are tightened correctly.
A slight gap is a deliberate design feature. The blades are subtly curved so that they align perfectly during the cutting motion, ensuring a higher quality cut and reducing blade wear. If the gap appears excessive, you can slightly tighten the central bolt, taking care not to over-tighten, as this can make the shears difficult to operate and may damage the blades.
While our stainless steel tools are naturally corrosion-resistant, "stainless" does not mean "rustproof." To maintain the integrity of the metal, we recommend cleaning and drying your tools after every use and storing them in a dry environment.
Guarantee & Repairs
All gardening products in our current range are guaranteed for 10 years against manufacturing defects. For full terms, please visit our dedicated guarantee page.
You are not required to register your product. If you purchased directly from our website, your confirmation email is your proof of purchase. For items bought via a retail stockist, please retain your till receipt, as this is essential for any future claims.
We do not offer an in-house sharpening or repair service. For blade maintenance, we recommend visiting a local garden centre or specialist. We do, however, sell a specialized Multi-Tool Sharpener designed specifically for garden blades.
We do not stock individual spare parts (nuts, bolts, etc.) for the Wilkinson Sword range, as we distribute the tools as complete units. However, should a manufacturing fault develop within your 10-year guarantee period, please contact us for assistance.

- A clear photo of the item (showing the brand logo).
- A copy of your receipt or order confirmation.
- A brief description of the fault.
- Your full name, address, and telephone number.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
We are licensed to distribute within the UK only. Please note that we cannot ship to the Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands.
We do not currently offer a live tracking service. We aim to deliver all orders within 5 working days. If you have concerns regarding your delivery, please contact us via our web form with your receipt number.
Adding a discount or promotional code to your order is simple. Follow these steps to apply your savings:
- View Your Cart: Once you have selected your items, click the shopping bag icon and select ‘Checkout’.
- Enter the Code: * On Desktop: You will see a field labelled ‘Discount code’ on the right-hand side of the screen, just above your order total.On Mobile: At the top of the checkout page, tap ‘Show order summary’ to reveal the discount code field.
- Apply: Type or paste your code into the box and click ‘Apply’. The discount will be automatically deducted from your total before you complete your payment.
Please Note: Only one discount code can be used per order. Ensure the code is entered exactly as shown, as they are often case-sensitive. If you have any trouble applying a valid code, please Contact Our Team before completing your purchase.
To initiate a return, please complete our contact form with your receipt number and the reason for the return. We will issue a Returns Authorisation Number and instructions. Please note that unauthorised returns will be rejected and sent back to the sender.
We do not offer a direct exchange service. Please return your unwanted item for a refund and place a new order for the preferred product.
First, check your spam or junk folder. If the email is missing and no payment has been deducted from your card, your order likely did not process. If payment has been taken, please contact us via our web form with the date of purchase, delivery address, and the name used for the order so we can investigate.
